Innov8 Hackathon is one of Bahrain’s biggest hackathons on cloud-based innovation, conducted in partnership with Tamkeen Bahrain and powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The Goal Of The Innov8 Hackathon:
Over a period of 48 hours, the minds of selected young individuals passionate about tech and tech-base solutions will be put together to collaborate and ideate brilliant tech-based solutions in the form of applications and prototypes that can contribute to SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Development in Bahrain
The tracks of Innov8 Hackathon 2023 will be based on the theme of SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Development in Bahrain.
SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Development, As part of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), goal 8 focuses on promoting sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.
Digitization and Innovation: Achieve higher levels of economic productivity through diversification, technological upgrading, and innovation, including through a focus on high-value-added labor-intensive sectors
Entrepreneurship, Creativity, and Innovation: Promote development-oriented policies that support activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro -, small, and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to financial services
Environmental Sustainability: Improve progressively, through 2030, global resource efficiency in consumption and production and endeavor to decouple economic growth from environmental degradation, in accordance with the 10-year framework of programs on sustainable consumption and production, with developed countries taking the lead
Safe and Secure Working Environments: Protect labor rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment
Sustainable Tourism / Environmental Tourism: By 2030, devise and implement policies to promote sustainable tourism that creates jobs and promotes local culture and products.
Prior to the Innov8 Hackathon event itself, three consecutive Pre-Hack Learning Days will be held.
Every participant has the opportunity to attend these days for FREE where various types of engaging and beneficial activities relevant to each sector will take place.
Attendees of the Pre-Hack Days will get the opportunity to attend beneficial speaker sessions and workshops that address the various elements of the hackathon, as well as other networking and entertainment events.!
